Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

AMFT #130772

Hello. Thanks for stopping by. I’m Chynna, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist supervised by Emily Judge, LPCC. It is my honor to support birthing families of all formations from the contemplation stage and beyond.

What I have learned, and continue to learn both in session and continuous education, is how much we need community to access healing. My work is deeply informed by the many communities I have served. From my previous work supporting families of incarceration and addiction, I offer compassionate understanding of the complex histories that inform how parents and partners attach and bond with one another. From my experience as a school-based clinician I offer perspective on parenting challenges and joys across developmental stages. From my undergraduate education in women’s reproductive health I view my support of patients through an intersectional and justice centered lens. From my personal experiences of infertility and pregnancy, I offer a passion for affirming birthing folks in accessing agency to realize a reproductive path of their own creation.

The work we would begin together is seated in your needs for wellness. Though I see my role as a looker for the light, I consider it a great privilege to sit close when the folks and families I serve need to peer into the dark. I hold empathic space for the range of emotions that may organically arise in session. I offer an eclectic theoretical approach infused with candor, humor, and respect. My interventions are Internal Family Systems informed, somatically focused, and attachment-based. I believe that our bodies are informed before our minds can make sense of what we need so I support the folks I serve in tuning in.

When I am not caring for clients, I can be found with my nose in a book, my dog, Wilbur, close by, half listening to my partner and daughter wax poetic about all things Star Wars. Or, when I am lucky, somewhere out exploring near and far with some delicious combination of family, friends, food, and laughter.
