Jean Sheppard, LCSW
I have over twenty years of experience working with adults, adolescents and geriatrics. My areas of expertise include stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship issues, life transitions. I utilize a multi-dimensional, strength-based approach in therapy by exploring psychological, biological, social, and spiritual needs. I draw from a variety of methods, including CBT, and Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy and Psycho-Educational support in order to tailor to the individual. I also provide Christian Counseling, based on biblical views.
As a therapist, I have been described as compassionate, kind, down to earth and intuitive. My hope is to walk beside you, whether healing from trauma or adjusting to life transitions. As a woman who struggled with infertility for over a decade, I know first-hand the pain and heartache you may be facing. My life journey brought me two beautiful babies via adoption.
I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Social Work from Marshall University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California.
In my free time, I enjoy sipping wine with my husband of 23 years, playing with my children in the pool, walking my dog Charlie, and reading the latest novel in Reese Witherspoon’s book club.
